Having grown up on a farm in rural Sussex, Will’s early years were defined by fields and forests, but now finds himself based in London, where he works across a wide range of disciplines as an architect, maker and digital artist. Will completed his Bachelor in Architecture at The University of Nottingham, before attending the AA on the prestigious Baylight scholarship. It was there whilst study for his diploma in 2012 he developed an interest in the emerging field of design interactions, which he now explores through audio-visual performance, virtual environments, physical installations and architectural practice.
Will co-founded and directs Built Works, an award winning architecture and design practice and its sister company Animated Works, a creative studio delivering temporary and time based installation, film and animation projects.
Will is also the Director and co-founder of Architects Holiday which combines sustainability and escapism to design, build and manage unique cabins, places and experiences off the beaten track.
As a studio tutor for Design + Make, Will teaches ‘digital storytelling’ which combines survey, animation and digital capture techniques to document, explore and curate the unique output of the course as well as guiding the design and delivery of the full-scale prototypes and structures.
