Cat Byrne is a forest researcher for Evolving Forests, with an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation, and a degree in Biological Sciences, specialising in ecology. She has research experience investigating woodland structure and its importance for avian biodiversity, and fieldwork experience in forests around the world, including biodiversity monitoring in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Cat also enjoys bringing a creative approach to her scientific work. She is a DJ and hosts and produces a radio show, Biorhythms with Cat, where she plays her own field recordings and nature soundscapes. She is passionate about the ability of sound to connect people with nature, especially woodlands.
